OCEAN-C: Outrigger Canoe Experience & Ancient Native-Culture
WHAT: Two hour cultural/outrigger canoe adventure in historic Kahului Harbor. Starting with a 20 minute video on Hawaiian volcanoes, ancient Polynesians, their voyaging canoes, and how they navigated without instruments; followed by paddling instruction, and one hour in an outrigger canoe.
Be prepared to wade up to your knees when launching. While paddling you may experience some sea splash. Wear clothing that can get wet. All valuables will be stored and locked, under supervision. Water safety equipment is provided.

Sunday Mornings at 9:30am, for cruise ship passengers
Monday Mornings at 8:00am, for cruise ship passengers
WHERE: Hoaloha Beach Park at Kahului Harbor. Meet under the thatched roofed traditional Hale.
WHY: A unique, exciting, fun, educational, and cultural experience in the less traveled north shore of Maui.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: 1. Leggings or shorts, 2. Light weight T-shirt, rash guard, or bathing suit, 3. Sun visor, or hat, 4. Slippers, reef walkers, or bare feet, 5. Sun screen and sun glasses if sensitive to the sun, 6. Towel and change of clothes if desired.
WE PROVIDE: Water safety equipment, storage facilities for valuables, showers, bathrooms, parking, drinking water are provided.
SAFETY: Canoeing is a very safe sport. The vessels are equipped with bailers and life-jackets are available. The steers person will have a radio onboard to contact the shore in case of an emergency. On shore, the club has first aid equipment. Sunscreen is advised.
SALES: A small shop will carry logo wear T-shirts, sun screen, water, and visors.
